BBA British Board Of Agrement
The wall coating product produced by Andura, a British Standards registered company (Registration No FM14830) is manufactured under the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System. The coating has also been assessed and approved by the British Board of Agrement – Certificate No 93/2917. The BBA is the UK’s major approval body for construction products and installers.
Monocouche Rendering
Through coloured renders are also known as monocouche renders and are types of decorative finishes that are applied to the exteriors of buildings. They provide weather protection to the building and an attractive decorative finish.
Through coloured renders and monocouche renders have been termed as modern renders. They have been developed to be applied in one coat to form and cure as one layer on the wall of a building. Traditional renders are usually applied in two coats or more, the first is a scratch coat followed by a finishing coat.
Through coloured renders are formulated using White Ordinary Portland Cement as a binder. This enables the render to be pigmented and when the render is applied and finished, the pigment will bind in place, all the way through the body of the render, hence the name through coloured render. Manufacturers of these renders produce a wide range of colours to suit customers tastes and requirements.
Traditional renders are formulated from Grey Ordinary Portland Cement and cannot be pigmented. In order to create an attractive finish with traditional render, a paint or wall coating product would have to be applied.
These renders are widely used in the modern building industry due to their incredibly long life expectancies and ease of application. They are a common site on today’s high rise office block and modern property developments.
