application
Our trained applicators follow this multi step process so that the walls of your home are prepared to a high standard and the product is applied in the correct manner to ensure maximum protection and a long lasting beautiful finish. This is the process we use to apply our wallcoatings:-
- The first step we take is to inspect the outside walls of you property before work is started, thus enabling problem areas to be identified.
- A mix of water and strong fungicides is applied at pressure to the exterior walls of your home. This removes years of accumulated dirt, soot, mould, mildew, algae, stains and loosely adhered paint and any other foreign substrates. This process helps to highlight any areas that need repair work.
- Cracks on the walls of your home are cut or ground out to remove any loose debris then a high quality filler is used to repair damage and create a sound, uniform surface.
- Areas of blown/damaged render are removed and re-rendered to match the existing surface where possible.
- When applying on an unpainted pebbledash surface, an extra process is needed. This is the application of a latex bag coat. This is used to overcome a common problem with pebbledash, de-stoning, (where pebbles on the surface have come loose and fallen off). The latex bag coat is applied and seeps into all cracks and pores in the pebbledash, binding the surface together and preventing this common problem.
- All doors, windows, drainpipes, gutters etc, and any area not to be sprayed are covered with heavy-duty paper and masking tape to prevent any overspray.
- Where a primer coat is needed, a primer containing special resins is used that creates an incredibly powerful and long lasting bond with the top coating.
- After all preparation work is carried out, an apex coating of your choice is applied. This is applied using specialist spray equipment and uses high pressures to achieve a tight bond. The coating is 20 times thicker than conventional paint and will help to conceal any repair work where a textured coating is used.
- We then carefully remove all masking and clean up.
- After the work is finished, you will be asked to walk around your transformed property with the crew foreman for inspection.
clearguard
This is a transparent, colourless barrier that protects vulnerable substrates from attack by water and chlorides. Apex Clearguard will provide a barrier to the intrusion of water without affecting the appearance of the wall. This is a single component system that penetrates deep into the surface of the wall and reacts to produce a water repellent barrier. This barrier is able to prevent penetration damp and erosion whilst still allowing the wall to breathe. Clearguard is able to withstand natural contraction and expansion caused by severe weathering
