Case Study House 14

The pointing on this property had become quite weathered and was starting to break down and fail. Some of the bricks were beginning to spall and a previous owner had some repairs carried out that were done very poorly. There was a course of bricks on the first floor that were originally red but they had been crudely covered over with cement. We removed this course of bricks and replaced them with some more red bricks that we sourced from a reclamation yard. Other spalled bricks were also replaced and the whole facade was re-pointed. We also painted the plinth and stone window sills.
